Virtual Tour brief

To help drive student recruitment, the Virtual Tour was created to:

  • Engage with both domestic and international prospective students throughout the various stages of recruitment
  • Showcase the award-winning campuses and student facilities through an immersive, 360º video experience
  • Raise awareness of the University’s ranking and reputation through a new and emerging digital technology
The Brief

Alluring and informative digital guide

Through the use of cutting edge photographic and VR technology, we developed a promotional tour that enables prospective students to digitally experience the vast Reading campus from wherever they are in the world.


Multimedia hotspots to inform and engage

The tour buildings, schools and green spaces across the fantastic campuses include interactive "hot spots" that that allows students to learn more about the location using video, imagery and text.


Driving student recruitment

As the interactive virtual tour showcases 52 locations across 2 campuses, the virtual tour is an invaluable student recruitment tool and used at higher education fairs worldwide.


Virtual Reality headset ready!

The tour can be explored easily and enjoyably using Virtual Reality (VR) headsets such as Google Cardboard as well as desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

We also produced a complementary 360˚ video so that students could experience the open day virtually.


LIMITLESS brand building

To enhance the University ranking and status within higher education, the virtual tour uses bold colours and compelling photography to make the University of Reading stand out from the competition. These elements promote the LIMITLESS brand identity as it communicates optimism, forward thinking and open to new possibilities.


Social media chatter

Tour elements can easily be shared across all popular social media platforms to create talking points using original content.
